DEAD COVERS PROJECT 2018
It's about that time to break out the banjo, gather up the family band, and let your creativity flow, visually and vocally. The DEAD COVERS PROJECT returns in 2018! We will be featuring selections on Grateful Dead properties all February long but you can send in your submissions as soon as January 1st. Simply upload your video to YouTube, tag it "DeadCoversProject," and we'll make it available to view on the band's official YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/gratefuldead in February.
hello -- i see only 68 videos on your youtube playlist. surely you had at least twice that in terms of submissions? some of your "videos of the day" aren't even on the list! and this was updated yesterday? just wondering if anyone's paying attention! my video is there, so advocating on behalf of those others who posted and tagged, but seem to have been left out. don't forget them! some great videos, and heads who stumble upon that playlist would be cheated if they don't get all the goods!
p.s. if y'all need some help, i'm happy to leave my fulltime job and take this over for the GD organization. let me know if you wanna see a resume. ;-)
I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate Dead.net making this available for musicians and videographers. I can't wait till next year. Especially because I have a new camera to work with to get more angles :):)
Everyone's videos and music are great to watch! I just let the playlist play them all :D
Here’s a banjo version of Rosalee McFall. I tag my videos in YouTube with DeadCoversProject but they don’t show up on the list. Is there an approval process? I know I’m a rank amateur but what does it take to get videos to show up on your page?
Here is a banjo Morning Dew. I tagged it on YouTube but it doesn’t show up in your list.
Thanks to everyone for putting this together.
Here's a rendition of China Cat --> I Know You Rider with my 14 year old daughter.
Hope you like it!
“In the end, this miraculous fusion—years-in-the-planning, months-in-the-making— has far exceeded whatever lofty expectations I originally had for the once-mythical slack key Dead album, and all I can say is “Mahalo plenty, Stephen!” Somewhere, Dennis Kamakahi, Gabby Pahinui, and yes, Jerry Garcia, are smiling…” – Blair Jackson, Author/Journalist/Grateful Dead Historian.
thanks to everyone involved for making the dead covers project possible. it’s a pleasure to be a part of it.
Helm is swaying to and fro....
We are it, we are on our own....
Don't expect administrators to answer any questions or explain anything further.
They've never done so yet.
You upload it to YouTube and include the tag DeadCoversProject
Not because of the sentiment, but because you can Hand Jive to it!
