Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have a triple dose of 1980s Grateful Dead, from 1980, 1981 and 1988.
Our first selection this week is a quartet of first set music from 12/27/80 in Oakland, the second night of a five night run: Looks Like Rain ; Tennessee Jed ; Passenger ; It Must Have Been The Roses.
Next is the terrific three song closing sequence from the first set of 5/13/81 in Providence, part of a great tour with loads of A-level shows: Bird Song > Let It Grow > Deal.
Lastly this week is the start of the second set from 6/28/88 at SPAC in Saratoga Springs, NY, the Dead’s final show at SPAC: Scarlet Begonias> Fire On The Mountain ; Estimated Prophet> Crazy Fingers.
Be sure to stop by next week for more music from the vault.
