Tapers Section By David Lemieux

Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have music from 1969, 1981 and 1984

Our first selection this week is from the Sierra College Pop Festival in Rocklin, CA, on 5/3/69. This nifty little bit of music features Morning Dew, Lovelight, Baby Blue, Beat It On Down The Line.

Next up is the start of the second set from the opening show of the Spring Tour of 1981. The band had done a tour in February and March, featuring many excellent shows, but that was a winter tour, so from the late-Spring tour of 1981 opener on 4/30/81 in Greensboro, NC, here’s Shakedown Street > Samson And Delilah ; It Must Have Been The Roses ; Estimated Prophet> Eyes Of The World.

Lastly this week is the end of the show from 4/27/84 in Providence, featuring Space > The Wheel > Wharf Rat> Around And Around > Johnny B. Goode , Touch of Grey.

Be sure to join us here next week for more music from the vault.

Those pesky '84's

Both Providence shows in 84 were crazy and fun. I know that Jerry sounded a bit froggy and the soundboards a bit thin, but this is good stuff people!

That Wheel> Wharf Rat is Plumply Dumpty!

The vocals and the mix on Wharf Rat are haunting...
