Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from 1972, 1982, and 1987.
Our first selection is from the tour-opening show from the first leg of the Fall Tour of 1972, on 9/15/72 at the Boston Music Hall, where we have this classic batch of 1972 Dead: He's Gone ; Me And My Uncle ; Bird Song ; Mexicali Blues ; Ramble On Rose.
Next is the end of the first set and start of the second set from 9/23/82 in New Haven, CT: Althea > Let It Grow, Touch of Grey>Lost Sailor>Saint of Circumstance.
Lastly this week is the bulk of the first set from 9/13/87 at the Capital Center: Iko Iko ; Little Red Rooster ; Brown Eyed Women; Fever ; Stagger Lee ; When I Paint My Masterpiece ; Bird Song. Side A of the cassette master from this show cuts at the end of Bird Song, so that’s where our track will cut here.
Be sure to stop in next week for more music from the Grateful Dead’s vault.
