Keep on Truckin'

Congrats, Mona! I myself have now been goin' down the road feeling Grateful for just under 5 years since my last chemo. Way to be a warrior! Sending out lots of positive energy to you and all others fighting the good fight!I firmly believe that listening to my tapes and CD's of the Dead was a major factor in my healing. Some rise, some fall, some climb...

Black Muddy River

Hello fellow Deadheads,
I’m so very happy to hear stories like Mona’s and other’s. I’m happy to hear and embrace successful stories of kicking cancer’s ass!!!

My 35 yr old daughter has been battling colon cancer for 3 years. She had a successful treatment 2 years ago but we found out 2 months ago the cancer returned and the long term prognosis is not good. Last week we found out my sister, age 52, has an aggressive form of breast cancer, a recurrence from 10 years ago, that spread throughout the body. Prognosis is not good either. Both daughter and sister have been told told we’re not talking years, but months. Posting here because I feel a kinship with my fellow Deadheads and I know you all have someone in your family or know someone who is battling cancer. Cancer knows no age, no race, no boundaries.

I guess what I’m saying is I’m posting here cause I can’t imagine walking alone by the ‘Black Muddy River’, though we all will at some point.

And lastly, I’d like to say ‘FUCK CANCER!!!!’

good luck mona

Good luck tomorrow, mona. I'm very happy for you...

And, good job on converting some of the hospital staff to the Grateful Dead! Hopefully it will stick! :-)

Candace Brightman

Would like to mention Candace’s struggle with macular degeneration. She could use all the love and light we have to offer.
