    parliment,funkadelic
Drove from orlando, fla, got to the box office, beautiful place to see a show, walked up to get will call tickets, purchased months before. Got handed 4 tickets that were lime green with "parliment/funkadelic". Thought it was weird, but having seen the stones put "the great stoned out wrestling champions" on their tickets for a concert in the 70's, said, "gonna be a weird nite" and walked up to the ticket taker to access the show. He laughed hard and said "no way was that a dead ticket" I explained to him that I just got handed them at will call and he said no way again. So back to the will call line, last minute of course before the show starts, and start askin' "what's the F&$#@ happened. After much serching and guessing by roadies and ticket takers and other staff, tickets were issued, but those seats were used up by the mix equipment. The mix board was in my seat. No worries, after they figured out what had happened, they took back the lime green tickets, gave me new tickets and set the 4 of us up right up there next to the boards. Wow, what a grate show, my first lost sailor=saint of circumstance. After the show, comming out of the doors, it was late, lots of heads around and lots of people just hanging out, leaning up against lampposts, smokin', go to the car, got lost , it was 3 or 4 am and was out driving thru downtown, were so out of it, we drove right up to a bunch of black dudes and asked directions. It was funny cause they said "go around the corner and wait, someone willbe right there to help you" now, I was stoned but I could see that that was not the directions to the interstate and the crowd that wanted us to go over there were a "motley crew" to say the least. So we hightailed it out of there, finally found the interstate and drove all day to get back. No sleep, wired on eskatrols, lost in Atlanta, those were the days. I'd do it all again, in a heartbeat.

    Sometimes you want more.
Funny and strange, I became such a song snob so quickly. I would pay mucho dinero if I could see this show again today. The fox was such a beautiful theater and we had front row balcony. I was visiting my brother in college (may he rest in peace), we just got back from the Birmingham show and we were feeling great. It is insane how I just remember being dissapointed with the song selection. What right did I have to feel that way and I know I wasn't alone, alot of the regulars felt the same but looking back on it all, GOD I MISS THOSE DAYS! We stayed at the Peachtree Plaza, the one with the giant glass elevators. After the show we went to go back to our room and a very straight couple gets in the elevator with us. We tried so hard to contain our laughter that when the door opened up on our floor we literally fell out of the elevator laughing.
