    Andy Falco's first show

Last night I caught a show of Andy Falco and Travis Book (of the Infamous Stringdusters) playing Jerry Garcia tunes. Great show, and between songs Andy mentioned that his first Dead show was this one. He was in middle school at the time and his older brother and a few friends showed up in the middle of the day to check him out and they drove from Long Island up to Hartford, arriving just in time to hear the opening cords of Jack Straw.

I'm currently listing to the recording of the show from the internet archives, pretty cool to hear the connection 37 years later!

    Check out the archives.
On the internet archives there is a pretty good sounding aud tape and during the Smokestack lighting jam they throw the Foolish heart riffs around for a few minutes, Pretty cool considering was still few years away.

    "What do the lights mean!!?!!!
My bud Kevin's first show. Rode the bus down from Worcester and somehow managed to dose on some total wack gel as we went through the door. My body felt totally groovy strange by Dire Wolf and we were both rocket men by Candyman--I think they played this really well-- all I know is I've loved it ever since and i howled through it.. There was a couple behind us dressed in tux and evening gown. Looks like rain was jammin up and the woman kept yelling "What do the lights mean!!!?!!! Absolutely one of the funnest times I ever had.
