    my thoughts
Set 1-Jack Straw: good short 1st solo; 2d solo starts out hot and stays that way, though it doesn’t quite hit the big climax; VG opener -TLEO: solo-Brent starts it, keyboard, 2 nice runs, then Jerry puts a big smile on my face; only 1 solo, pretty version overall but VG -Cassidy: solo-very good; same with the jam -Peggy-O: long, beautiful solo; a highlight -El Paso: solid -Don’t Ease: strange placement but it seems to fit, oddly enough; 1st solo-good run from Brent, nice 2 runs from Jerry; 2d solo-excellent, you can see Jerry smiling; a surprising highlight -BIODTL: VG version -Deal: solo- a bit meandering, no power but still good Notes: short but VG 1st set. Peggy-O, Don’t Ease and Jerry’s solo in TLEO are the highlights Set 2 -China Cat: very good 1st jam; 2d jam (after “queen Chinnee” verse) starts out slow, never quite hits the high gear or climax but still nice -Rider: VG solo with an extra run then right into the “headlight” verse; a hot, high-powered jam makes this a highlight -Samson: Bobby comes in early with the vocals during a VG Jerry solo; VG 2d solo -Eyes: nice slow intro; Bobby inserting his disco licks into the 1st solo, Jerry taking his time, summer dream, very good; 2d solo-Jerry playing a lot of notes, carrying us on the summer breeze, VG again; Jerry introduces the wah-wah into the outro, long and nice, lands softly at Sailor -Lost Sailor: really well-played -St of Circum: nothing wrong here, a good song, just no room for jamming -Jam: Jerry running up and down, bunch of little teases from others (Samson, Feeling Groovy?), never quite coalesces into something concrete yet still is moving -Drums: -Space: -Back Peter: 1st solo-deliberate, precise, 1run, good; outro-long, VG, Bobby trying to start Sugar Mag -Sugar Mag: good energy in the jam; solid version -E: US Blues: solid -E2: Brokedown: they come back for a 2d encore, VG Overall: short, good Brokedown almost makes up for the short post-space. VG show, 8.5/10
