    First show

The one that started it all for me. It was actually a great concert. The 2nd set is awesome.

    Home show
Since I was born in Bloomfield Hills, I was very excited to have a hometown show. I remember my brother was rock climbing on the west coast so we stayed at his place with his amazing cat Casper (who was able to urinate in the toilet bowl and flush). I was able to hang with my cousin Chippy before the show and before his terrible car accident in Utah that left him disabled. He was making and selling hacky sack footbags. They were called Alta footbags. He had so much energy and remains a beautiful human being to this day. GDTS was kind to me this particular show. I had received a ticket to each show in a big envelope before the tour started and scored nearly a front row seat for this show. I really didn't care how close I was to the band, I just wanted to hear the music and dance. I gave my ticket to my brother's best friend Rick and went back behind the last row of seats to dance with everyone else. This was a solid show from start to finish. First set Iko opener set the mood for a great night in Clarkston.

    Ticket
I still have the ticket stub from this one. was a large odd shaped ticket. More like a deck of caprds size then your normal ticket stub. I have at least 250 of my original stubs Made a very nice framed hanging piece of art out it. Also have one of my JGB stubs though only made of 150 show stubs

This was the first time I experienced the Grateful Dead and what a fantastic show it was. Picture perfect from start to finish and the tapes I got years later confirmed this. Out of He's Gone was a jam very reminiscent of Caution Jam. Very aggressive. I sure wish they'd release it....

We got to the show in our big boat of a car after Indianapolis, and didn't have enough gas to get home and we were all broke. I ran into some vendor friends who gave us a stack of stickers that we sold for gas money back home to Chicago. What a great community and what care-free days those were. Security tried to keep the Seva Table over at the side under a gazebo way beyond any walking....so i saw the show (to a barrage of sillyness for the gazebo reference.) anyways, the security wanted to get that criminal element and started to push Calicao around in the aisle...she began to spin with enthusiasm and suddenly, I saw a silver dragon flash into sight and curl between jerry and Phil...all across the stage...as they got that bad mamma outtdahway. makes you wonder-huh? (i didn't do any drugs.) keep your character, enjoy living, share your fortune, OXOX Merple Reddin

This was back when we used crutches,a backpack & hippie chicks to get in my Sony D5 tape deck,Nackamichi mikes & cords into gigs to record!:DTraveled w/ Dave Miller & Warren ...I honestly don't think I peaked until after the show. IKO-IKO set the show insane! Tons of fireworks by heads after all these shows around the Fourth Of July.
