1st show after the Hollywood Bowl for me
The 1st show after the Hollywood Bowl for me was great. We had 2nd row center seats. My first sound check. Garcia was fooling around playing the piano!

My brother and I drove up from Lowell,OR. in a 1950 powerglide. We were on guest list. The backstage pass said "Hello my name is" Forth row in front of Jerry. Backstage ,Mountain Girl, very kind conversation. First time I saw the Dead without Pig Pen. Owsley was there. Heinekin on ice ect. And I was an 18 year old later day long hair. Oregon was my first home away from home. My brother and I and several others lived on 640 acres of land 9 miles from Lowell. $25 a month rent. I lived in a tree house -net 50' up in a maple tree. We had a hand painted sign at the entrance ,"This aint no commune" Then on to Veneta a month later for what was to be the most auspicious day of my life, maybee. More Later , Stephen, AKA Bones, aka, Strider (name given to me on my first trail crew 1981 Glacier National Park) more later
