that was a 3 show journey. my memory must be fading cause i thought that hail was on the first day. i do recall my buddy had a cherry red mint condition monte carlo that got pummeled by that hail. also, it was still storming when the boys started cold rain and snow then part way through the song the skies cleared and the sun shined bright. also vividly recall sitting next two to cops when two dudes came up to them and asked," hey man, have you seen a dude with long blonde hair and a tie-dyed t-shirt?" the looks on those two cops were priceless. the laughed and one said " pick one" what a fabulous time that was. only to be topped a couple weeks later in iowa with that raucous 4th of july show...it was mayhem!

LIGHTNING STORMS?!?!?!?! Ha! The same hail storm passed back and forth over that place at least three times... "Hail the size of beach balls"-Bobby Weir ~I was concealed Now I am stirring And I will lay my love around you...~

"Hail the size of Beachballs!"...Weir(Actually 5 miles away in Arvada hail did something like 100 million in damage, but it did hail for a short tine on the Rocks) All the weather related lyrics apply. Out in the Cold Rain & Snow (well there was no snow), Cool Colorado rain! If the Thunder don't get you the Lightning will! I remember when Bobby got drenched! The wind was blowing pretty good and the tarp over the stage would fill up and then the wind would gust and the water kept coming down all around the stage. Got a great picture of the moon peaking through the clouds with the night lights of Denver below. This was also the night that we ended up at Chief Hosa campground. Totally amazing fun! Campfires and music all around with really good hallucinogens and a few great vendors selling veggie chili and burritos. After a day on the Rocks with the Dead this was a great place to kick back.

Killer rain storm. Lots of energy. They played the rain snow "Cold Rain and Snow" and "Rider" (I'd Shine my Light thru the Cool Colorado Rain). Night before they player "Looks like Rain". How'd they know? The moon came out during "Ship of Fools" and every one started going "ooooooh'. It was behind the stage so every one could see it except the band. The probably where like what the hecks going on????
