This was a SEVA benefit and they sold special tickets for a party backstage after the show. The best seats were the circle of platinum. Me, being the frugal one splurged for the circle of gold tickets which got us about 25 rows back in the middle. I believe those gold tickets were $70 apiece which was unheard of back in 83'. The Party afterwards was cool; As I recall there was a band with a girl singer, I will get her name, and Rick Danko sat in. Wavy gravy was the emcee and we met Bobby, for the 100th time (who hasn't ;) ), Billy, Brent, and Micky. I didn't see Phil and of course Jerry was a no show. I did run into Ken Kesey in the bathroom. I had met him and all the pranks at the Hilton(?) next to the hult the year before. I asked him what the red jacket was for and he told me the story. The show was good. The Bus came by and I got on, it's where it all began....... The Third Eyeball Benefit with the Band on the lawn in Canada's Wonderland. Once in a while you get shown the light, in the strangest places, if you look at it right!!

$70.00??? Man, I remember seeing The Band and The Grateful Dead for $10.00 at this one.

We stopped our car on the NY Thruway at a certain milemarker and I walked a quarter mile straight into the woods and stashed a grocery bag for later retrieval. When we got to the border none of the dumbass college kids had sufficient ID for the crossing so we had to go Greyhound and Taxi to get there. Once there an associate informed me that he had brought *everything* with him and now he needed help getting rid of it. My pocket were stoofed with Canadian dollars to be exchanged the next day back in NY state where my bag was safely waiting. That encore was a thrill, as was the hash the they had up there that I cannot find down here for many a decade. *sigh* sticky bricky

It was a benefit, after all. SEVA shirts were cool at the time. Still are.

This show was fun the place was fun the encores were just awesome. I always wondered why they didn't continue to play New Orleans. Is a fun little song which would of been a good encore from time to time.
