    Utica
I clearly remember someone in front of the garden asking for a ride to the Utica show. I can still recall thinking really? why? I was not that into the behind the scene of every show every night yet. I was catching on to music and the fun had at "A" show did not understand that people traveled to the shows night after night city after city. By mid summer I understood when someone from my town was heading to northwest to see the mini tour. I was beginning to catch on. Unfortunately for my family. Then Buffalo in September and I wanted more rite away. I would have to wait till the spring tour and REALLY summer tour in 1982. I look back now and see the passion for the boys back then could never get enough. Even missing one show began to get under my skin. I would hate when someone showed up and said last night they played...... I would for sure feel like I missed something. Now over 30 years removed from the scene having only been to 476 shows I wish I had hit the 500 mark but I still have very fond memory's. And if I counted the 186 times I saw JGB it pus me over that mark.

After my first show I was hooked, but I didn't drop out and go on the road. I would catch other acts, and wait for the boys to come back around.Bob Seger, Bobby & the Midnights, Bruce Springsteen, JGB, and then finally my 2nd show at the old Gahden. I wish this site listed all their side shows along with the Dead's.
