Great range and motion in all the tunes played in (at least) set
just heard set one on Sirrus/ XM and it amazed me how all of the songs stood out. Normally there are a couple of stand outs and the rest are just good. I'd love to hear the rest of the show. I envy all of you who say you were there. I also envy that you can remember it all these 40 years later. LOL

This old venue saw many fantastic times. One of the best nights for Dark Star. My old lover introduced me to the Dead and I will be forever Grateful to him for that gift.

This is my first Grateful Dead Show and it totally blew me away and made me a fan for the rest of my life. The Dark Star was amazing and the Johnnnie B Good oncore brought the house down!

First Dead show for me too. I had no idea who they were but was talked into going by a friend (I think she needed a ride) Was hooked from that night on. Probably paid about $18 for that ticket.

This was my first Dead Concert...I sat on Jerry's right and locked in when the effects of "The Race is On" took me around the Spectrum. The acid kicked in and I mellowed into "Row Jimmy Row" and when it was all over "Sugar Magnolia" was my favorite Dead song (it still is)... Went to this concert with a friend of mine from Perth Amboy,NJ- Joe Hatrak. He had an extra ticket and needed a ride to the show. We parked a block away from the Spectrum. Great concert- but got my 8-track tape player ripped off. This was my 1st Grateful Dead concert with many more to follow.

Hello marijuanabob! Joe Hatrak is my father and it's great to see things like this with memories of him, because after his death, when I was 11, everything became hush-hush. And I want to know more about him. I know he loved the dead, he passed all of his musical influence to me and I'm now part of the "new" hippie generation. He was a great guy and I'm happy that I had him for 11 years. I just don't know enough about him, so any info you can provide would be awesome. I'm not sure if you knew her or not, but his wife was Karen Hatrak, previously Karen Kwasnofski. She passed away last month taking the rest of the secrets with her.... Anything you can help me with, I'd absolutey love.

I was there for my first Dead show and I remember that my ticket was $4.50, about the same price as an album back then.
