    Enchores
This was a great show, though I am biased being that it was my first Dead show. That said, it is without a doubt a hot setlist and I have always wondered why they don't (or didn't) release this one on a Dicks Pick or the Road trip thing, being that all the other 80's releases didn't even come close to this one. Anyway, what I remember most about this was how after US Blues, the shows over, lights come on, music plays on the pa, BUT, nobody leaves, everyone is still clapping for another enchore. I thought at the time, "I see this happen at concerts all the time, the band aint comin back out...". The road crew is wrapping up cords, etc. But we were all still going crazy and nobody looked like they were going anywhere. This went on for 11 Minutes (which I found out the exact time the next day in the paper), again, still a full house, and suddenly, the lights go down again and out they came, and rightfully settled us all down with Brokedown Palace, said goodnight, and that was it. I was already hooked as a 'deadhead for life' just from being in the parking lot before the show, but after experiencing the show, and the whole "enchore after the lights went on" thing, I realized that this was not just another concert, and the saying was so true, that there is no concert like a Grateful Dead concert! (and never will be again unfortunately, RIP Jerry)

    I was there,

And yes they were rapping up cords and breaking it down. They had to bring the mike stands back out to do the Brokedown encore. It was my first show also and I was hooked.
