Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have music from 1972, and a double dose of late-Brent material, from 1987 and 1988.
Our first stop this week is on 9/9/72 at the Hollywood Palladium, a very cool building that brought out something great in the Grateful Dead. From this show, we have the classic 1972 jam sequence of He's Gone > Truckin'> Drums > The Other One.
Next is the start of the show from 9/11/87 in Landover, MD, the first show of a three night stop at the Capital Center, where the Dead hadn’t played since 1982. From this show, we have Bertha >Promised Land; Candyman; New Minglewood Blues; When Push Comes To Shove.
Lastly this week, from a year later on 8/28/88 in Eugene, OR, we have the start of the second set, featuring an uncommon second-set opening sequence: Jack Straw > Bertha ; Truckin' > Terrapin Station.
Be sure to join us here next week for more music from the vault.
