GDTRFB "closing"
FYI: Goin' down the road closing as you call it is actually the melody from the song "And we bid you goodnight"
Great First Set
Underrated first set - Scarlet in the first was an awesome surprise. Went to this one too.
Man, taking a listen to this
Man, taking a listen to this joint right now and it's just taking me right back there. High Time right now. The renditions performed up to this point in the first set are just perfect. Could be put to tape and put right out as an LP - and I mean that in a good way.
Memories most vivid are the Rooster, High Time, stompin' to the Don't Ease - jumpin' high on the two-beat after "Don't Ease Don't Ease!" with Brent's Hammond B3 slammin' and holdin' that upbeat there each time - then the Bertha and Bobby's new (was it new then?) way of accenting on different upbeats during the solos, and STOMPIN' the hallways for Blue Dress -> Golly -> Blue Dress. The He's Gone is pretty sweet although I don't really remember it. The "smile smile smile" line is even pretty rarily clean.
Damn good show. Can I go back?

One of many...
One of the many MSG shows I saw between '83 and '95...
most have melted into a dream...
but this one I'm sure I was at because I can remember Miss Molly > Blue Dress among others quite vividly...
Anyone with a tape of this show
My friends first show. Does any one have copy of this show. Please!!!!!!
My second show
I remember this stoned, long haired dude outside the show asking us if we wanted to buy any “Trippies” - Gold stars and Musical notes.
I dosed and so did one of my friends.
The second set was a really intense experience and I did my own thing and didn't really see much of my friends until the end of the show.
I remember walking out of the Garden and noticing all the squeaking shoes on the floor, as did all the other dosed heads.
The next day I eventually got back to our hotel and to my amazement my friends had mysteriously disappeared leaving a note that said “We’ve gone back to England”
As it turns out one of them had a bad trip and persuaded the other one to take him home in the middle of the night.
I guess there's always a risk if you choose to take mind altering substances...
On the Bus
My first show - and what an awesome time we had! This marked a major turning point in my life.
Grateful Forever.
Thanks for your help Bud.
