Welcome back to the Tapers' Section, where this week we have music from a seven year period in Grateful Dead history, 1976-1983.
Our first stop this week is on the excellent Fall Tour of 1976, the second tour in the band's comeback year. From 10/1/76 in Indianapolis, we have the big second set jam of Dancing In The Street>Drums>The Wheel>Ship of Fools>Dancing In The Street>Goin' Down The Road Feeling Bad>One More Saturday Night.
From five years later on 9/26/81, we have music from Buffalo, NY, on a short three-show tour before the Dead hit the road for the European tour. From the end of the show, we have Space>Not Fade Away>Morning Dew>Playing In The Band reprise>One More Saturday Night.
From two years after this Buffalo jam, we have the start of the second set from the final night of a three-night run at the Hult Center in Eugene, OR, on 8/31/83, featuring a jammingly good sequence of w tour before the Dead hit the road for the European tour. From the end of the show, we have Cold Rain and Snow, Playing In The Band>China Doll>Jam>Drums>Space/Jam.
Be sure to join us here next week for more tunes from the vault.
