Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have music from 1970, 1981 and 1989.
Our first selection this week is one song, but what a song it is: Turn On Your Lovelight from 7/16/90 in San Rafael, CA, with very special guest Janis Joplin. Terrific stuff.
Next up is the start of the first set from 7/8/81 in St. Louis, where we have this excellent sequence featuring Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo > Feel Like A Stranger ; Peggy-O > Little Red Rooster.
Lastly this week is a terrific first set from 7/13/89 at RFK Stadium in Washington, DC, the second night of an excellent two night run on the consistently great Summer Tour of 1989: Hell In A Bucket ; Cold Rain And Snow ; Little Red Rooster ; Tennessee Jed ; Stuck Inside Of Mobile With The Memphis Blues Again ; To Lay Me Down ; Let It Grow. That’s Bruce Hornsby sitting in on Tennessee Jed and Memphis Blues.
Be sure to join us here next week for more great music from the vault.
