I bought 2 tix on the street the night before by being quick on the draw. Great show, Shakedown opener (come oonnn) always a treat, Candyman is one of the most beautiful songs by any band. I totally remember the 22 beats, great China Rider, Estimated Eyes with Phil gettin' some love in between with Tom Thumb's Blues. People were pissed with the Miracle repeat (c'mon people it was 9 effing shows). I thought Weir was going to jump off the middle of the stage during Lovelight. Balls out rocker of a show, I had a perma grin without the acid.
Took the Middle three off
Walking around the Garden prior to this show, I bumped into the person who puddled me on the 15th and he proceeded to do it again. This night and the 16th, Oxford and Hampton were my favs of 88.
The after Parties in NYC after the 9/18/87 and 9/23/88 shows were epic; no band members but lots of crew, family, friends and bikers.
The city that never sleeps - I ain't ready yet to go to bed; Cats down under the Stars tonight.
MSG Shakedowns were the best the energy which usually was at 10 in the building went to a new level once Jerry would start teasing the opening notes/Chords.
The Rain, Shakedown in the 90's is another one that stands out.
